I still plan on running in a few 5K's, after all Eric promised me he would run with me at my next race (I think it's only fair it be a 5K, since he does not run!), MyKayla and one of her friends started training for a 5K last week I told them that if they completed their training I would fly to Utah to run an event with them, and several of the kids had stated that if they were here they would have ran with me. Hopefully all the kids summer visitation schedules will work out and the entire family will run a 5K together, and yes that includes Bre! on July 14th.
Now to find a 10K training program...there are so many listed online and I have saved 7 possible schedules. Each schedule varies on weeks of training (8-15), amount of days to train per week (4-6), and the actual workout.
Option 1: Run a 10k in 10 weeks
Option 2: Beginner runners 10k
Option 3: Jeff Galloway's 5k & 10k training
Option 4: Cool Running Beginner 10k Program
Option 5: Running Planet Easy first 10k
Option 6: Hal Higdon 10k Training - Novice
Option 7: Running Times 10k Beginner 1 or 10k Beginner 2
While putting these options on my blog above, I automatically ruled out option 1, 6, and 7. They may work for someone else who comes across my blog so I am leaving them and their links (hopefully those work) on here. Option 4 and 5 I have ? marks by, so for argument sake, I will eliminate those as well, which now leaves me with only option 2 and 3. But since option 3 has the option to walk on Monday's and Wednesday's, which I already do, I am going to attempt this schedule.
I have attached both the 5K and 10K training that is located on the link for Option 3, for those who might be interested. I will be following the 10K only.
