How does your garden grow?

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,

For several weeks we have been trying to plan out this years garden. Our goal this year is to use every square inch of our yard that isn't currently covered in grass or by a tree. With what everyone has requested to have in our garden, we are attempting to find creativity in how we plant, what we grow, where we grow it, and determining which crops we can replant throughout the seasons.

We currently have two blueberry bushes, oregano, and thyme and this weekend we purchased the majority of our seeds in hopes to start them inside and gradually transplant them into our yard. I am following sproutrobot.com's recommendations for our zip code on what to plant and when.

This weekend we purchased the following seeds:
  • Cilantro
  • Pole Beans
  • Corn - Sweet
  • Peas - Snap
  • Spinach
  • Cucumbers
  • Green Pepper
  • Red Pepper
  • Jalapeno
  • Green Onion
  • Red Onion
  • Yellow Onion
  • Tomato - Roma
  • Tomato - Cherry
  • Tomato - Sweet 100
  • Broccoli
  • Lettuce - 4 types
We are hoping to add some pots to our garden to grow carrots, potatoes, a dwarf lemon tree, strawberries, and a dwarf lime tree.

While I have an idea how I'd like to lay out my garden, we are still searching for the best way to grow the majority of our vegetables vertically to allow us to plant as many items as we possibly can throughout our yard. We are also hoping to be able to replace or add new items as vegetables are harvested. Wish us luck and please check back as we attempt to share our garden adventures with you.
